In this module, training participants will learn about the basic principles of teaching adults. We will discuss what adults need to learn effectively and explore our own assumptions and learning preferences.

In this module, training participants will be introduced to a general framework for designing and developing training sessions. Training participants will learn how to conduct needs assessments, write learning objectives, develop engaging activities, and develop evaluation tools. 

CKC: 2 hours in Personal, Professional & Leadership Development

In this module, training participants will learn about Oregon’s Professional Development System. Training participants will be able to identify key partners and programs within the system, learn more about the Core Knowledge Categories that provide the basis for all trainings, as well as learn about what training and education is needed to advance through the Oregon Registry Steps document.

CKC: 1 hour in Personal, Professional & Leadership Development


In this module, training participants will learn how to effectively deliver trainings that will engage their training participants. Training participants will learn strategies for creating an effective learning environment and managing difficult training situations. Additionally, training participants will learn how to actively listen to their training participants and build on their knowledge to make it a meaningful and relevant training for all.

CKC: 1 hour in Personal, Professional & Leadership Development


In this module, training participants will define their understanding of culture and cultural identity and how that affects their interactions with training participants in the classroom. Training participants will be introduced to a framework that will help them assess and identify teaching methods that are more culturally responsive and inclusive.
